	Isla Tortuga This full day trip to Isla Tortuga (Turtle Island) in the Gulf of Nicoya is one of the most popular boat tours in Costa Rica. You are welcomed aboard with refreshments and tropical fruit as you sail through the scenic gulf waters and then to where blue-green waters lap the white sand beach of Tortuga. Disembark for a day of relaxation, swimming and beach volleyball or just lie on the beach and do nothing at all! Sit down to a gourmet picnic buffet served under swaying palm trees, before the afternoon return to port.

	Carara National Park This is the northern-most region of Pacific rainforest remaining in Costa Rica, and is the beginning of the transition zone into the tropical dry forests of the northwest. Birds native to both habitats can be found here and the park is therefore a favorite of birders. About 150 scarlet macaws nest and feed throughout the reserve and can usually be seen around dusk flying west down the Río Tárcoles towards the coastal mangroves where they roost for the night. The park is just minutes from your vacation rental.

	Punta Coral Private Reserve Cruise Accessible only by boat, Punta Coral is set in a pristine Tropical Dry Forest (less than 2% left in the world today) and has a quiet beach on one side and a valley filled with flowering plants, interesting rock formations and numerous caves on the other. Troops of howler monkeys, yellow naped Amazon parrots, a variety of hummingbirds and butterflies call this special place home. A superb seafood lunch with chilled white wine is served in a covered dining area overlooking the ocean.
